Founder
The Story Behind IRAH
Hi, I’m Dhara, the founder of IRAH.
I’ve always had a love for clothes, fabrics, and personal style. My father has spent over 50 years in men’s fashion and textiles. Growing up around him, I was naturally surrounded by fabrics, craftsmanship and conversations about clothing. Somewhere along the way, I inherited not just his knowledge, but also his appreciation for good fabric, thoughtful details and well-made clothes. Born in India, I moved to the UK to pursue my Master’s, where life took me through some unexpected chapters — from working in a bank to owning a Post Office and even running a pub. After 15 years in the UK, I moved back to India with my family.
I then took a break from work to raise my two daughters. During those years, I found myself thinking more about the clothes I loved to wear. I loved the comfort, breathability, and beauty of Indian cottons, handwoven fabrics, and traditional prints, but wanted them in silhouettes that felt modern, effortless, and easy to wear.
So, I decided to create them myself. And that became IRAH.
The name IRAH comes from my two daughters, Rhea and Rida — a little piece of them in something I was building from the heart.
IRAH is my take on everyday clothing — beautiful Indian fabrics, thoughtful prints, and traditional craftsmanship brought together in modern, comfortable silhouettes.
I’m not here to chase every trend. I simply want to create clothes that feel good, look beautiful, and become the pieces you reach for again and again.
And that’s how the IRAH journey began.
